Guide to the GosuGamers NA Weekly #9

Overwatch Gosu “GosuGamers” Gamers

It's Sunday, and that means it's time for another GosuGamers NA Weekly! Here's a guide to the streams and the teams to help you follow the action.

16 teams battle it out in a tournament that's bound to be full of close matches and surprises. Last week's NA weekly was extremely exciting and competitive, and with the double Zenyatta meta behind us, this one should be even better! The prize pool for this week is at least $480, which can be increased by donating on Matcherino.com. Anyone can use the coupon code "GGNA9" to donate $1 for free!

The tournament will be casted on Twitch in a number of languages. Click the link for your preferred language.

Predictions

To help you get an idea of where the teams stand, here's my predictions for the tournament this weekend.

#1 Luminosity.gg

This was a big week for Mix^, as they got themselves a sponsorship with Luminosity.gg. Since EnVyUs will be taking a break and IDDQD hasn't been participating in NA weeklies, they have a great chance to take the win this week. They performed well last week, taking the NA Weekly semi-finals 2-1 against Cloud9.gg, then finishing second after a 1-3 loss to EnVyUs in a series that was closer than the scoreline suggests. They looked a bit shaky in the EU weekly yesterday, being taken out 2-0 to Reunited, but it's hard to judge them for that when facing ping disadvantage on the EU server.

#2 Cloud9.gg

Cloud9 narrowly lost the semi-final to Luminosity last week, so they'll be looking to get back to winning ways this week. Anything less than a win in the finals will be a disappointment for them, but there's a number of teams around that can give them a run for their money. It won't be an easy ride, but it would be a big mistake to count them out.

#3 FlatEarth

FlatEarth are always solid and usually fare very well in our EU weeklies, but their chances aren't as great in the NA weekly due to ping disadvantage, as was displayed in their 2-1 loss to Prime 2 weeks ago. They might not have much of a chance of taking the tournament, but they could beat some good teams and potentially make the final.

#4 TLOH

The Life of Hanzo have been steadily improving over the last couple of weeks, taking Prime out 3-1 just yesterday and taking EnVyUs to map 3 last weekend. They are capable of beating any team in the tournament, so it will be interesting to see if they can pull it off!

Underdogs

HumbleBrag, Code7 and Prime all have an outside chance to get some good results in this tournament. Code7 managed to take EnVy to game 3 last week, so it will be interesting to see how they do this week. HumbleBrag has notable 2-0 victories against Melty and Code7 under their belt, while Prime impressed 2 weeks ago in their 2-1 victory over FlatEarth and narrow 2-1 defeat against Cloud9. All in all, anything could happen in this tournament!
