Our journey through Nod-Krai continues with the upcoming Version Luna III! Through a special update livestream, developer HoYoverse has unveiled what to look forward to with the next version update for Genshin Impact.
But before we get into the details, here are the livestream codes, redeem them before they expire!

Wish banners for Version Luna III
Durin joins as next 5-star playable character
Durin was first introduced in the “Summertide Scales and Tales” event, and was initially antagonistic like his namesake, the evil dragon that Barbatos and Dvalin had fought with in the past.
Durin caused havoc in the storybook world of Simulanka. However, interactions with the traveler, their friends, and the Wanderer caused him to have a change of heart. He would later traverse to reality with their blessings in the form of a small toy dragon, and was named “Mini-Durin” by Alice.
During the ending scenes of “Paralogism”, Albedo granted Mini-Durin a human form. In this new form, Durin would integrate himself into Mondstadt’s society as a “new companion”. Durin would later join Wanderer and Albedo as they made their way to Nod-Krai.
In Nod-Krai, Durin played an important role in banishing Rerir beyond the fake sky of Teyvat. He acted as a conduit to convert and siphon Rerir’s abyssal power to Columbina, with the help of Albedo.
As a playable character, Durin will wield a Pyro vision with a preference for the sword. He is a subDPS with great off-field support and buffing capabilities, and has two distinct combat styles: through abyssal power, or through the power of fairytales.
The 2 modes of his power correspond with either his damage dealing or his support, making him a very versatile and flexible unit to have in your party.
Varesa, Xilonen, Venti to rerun
Varesa, Xilonen, and Venti will join this version as returning banner runs. The Anemo Archon Venti (Barbatos) will run alongside Durin in the first half of Version Luna III.
In the second half, Geo 5-star Sword support character Xilonen will run alongside Varesa, a 5-star Electro Catalyst DPS.
Venti gains a new buff that optimises his skill, as well as another buff that allows him to deal additional Anemo DMG through his burst. The change to his kit is tied to his story as the Anemo Archon, as he chooses to reclaim his hidden power from Istaroth, the God of Time.
Jahoda, who will be a new Anemo Bow subDPS and healer, is running as a rate-up 4 star character. Jahoda was part of the faction that supported the Traveler and Columbina in fighting against Rerir. She is employed by Nefer at the Curatorium of Secrets, but before that, she was a Treasure Hoarder.
New weapons for Durin and Venti, plus a new enemy and world boss
The weapon banner will feature two new 5-star weapons:
- Athame Artis–Durin’s best-in-slot sword, which will run in the first half
- The Daybreak Chronicles–Venti’s new bow, which will run in the second half
A new world boss, which will provide Durin’s level-up ascension materials, will also make its appearance. The boss is the Super-Heavy Landrover: Mechanized Fortress, which seems to be a Fatui creation with serious firepower.
New Archon Quest: “Nocturne of the Far North”, and other events to look forward to
The story of Nod-Krai continues with the next update to the region’s overarching storyline with “Song of the Welkin Moon: A Nocturne of the Far North.”
In this Archon Quest, Nod-Krai is celebrating its very own festival through the “Moon Prayer Night”. Travelers can expect festive decorations, various mini-games, and more.
The Moon Prayer Night festival is marked as Columbina’s last night on Teyvat, as the event highlights when khuuvaki is at its peak, which opens a chance for Columbina to finally go to the moon.
Alice also finally makes a personal appearance through this quest, with secrets of her own to reveal to players. With khuuvaki in abundance and various perils abound, Travelers will need to address alongside Durin and Wanderer.
Nicole, codenamed “N” of the Hexenzirkel, will also make an appearance through this event.
Meanwhile, other events to look forward to for rich rewards and Primogems are:
- Soulblazer’s Snowbound Journey–a Dragonspine-centric event that will reward an event-exclusive 4-star bow. The event will feature minigames like:
- Windtrace–fab-favourite prop-hunt like hide and seek co-op game
- Frontier Recon–a parkour-like event
- Jade Pitching–snowball-throwing carnival-like minigame
- A Trial of Valour–fighting mini-game
- Bing-Bang Finchball–a returning Natlan event
- Heroic Clash: Saurian Brawl–Saurian-indwelling co-op game
- Marvelous Merchandise–Liben is returning with new information for a new Mondstadt area, which is likely Dornman Port!
Durin will also receive his own Story Quest entitled “Draco Rubedo Chapter: Act 1 The Magic Known as Storytelling”, which will explore his new life as a human alongside his friends in Mondstandt. Completing the story quest within the time limit will provide primogems and ascension materials for Durin.
Various characters to be buffed in Version Luna III
A number of Mondstadt-affiliated characters are getting buffed, thanks to “Witch’s Homework”.
These characters, who are connected to the Hexenzirkel in one way or another, will become a “Hexerei” character. The buff includes enhancements to their kits, as well as an effect called “Hexerei: Secret Rite Effect”, which will become active when there are two Hexerei members in your party.
The buffs will be made available upon completing certain tasks given by the Hexenzirkel.
The characters receiving the buffs are:
- Durin
- Venti
- Klee
- Albedo
- Mona
- Sucrose
- Fischl
- Razor
Additionally, players will be able to gain Sucrose, Fischl, and Razor for free.
