Four new teams - three of which ex-eSF - will join the Korean eSports Association, reports Inven. As a result, the new Proleague SC2 season to start this December will feature a full eight-team line-up.
The joining of the ex-eSF teams - who left the organization on September 1st this year - has been rumored for some time now. The most recent hints came with the progamer education seminar that KeSPA held at the end of October and where members of Prime, IM and MVP were spotted.Today it was officially reported that those three teams, along with NaJin - an organization known for its League of Legends successes - will join the ranks of KeSPA.
The new wave of teams flowing into KeSPA will also solve the issues around the line-up for the next StarCraft 2 Proleague. The departure of SouL earlier this year, the disbandment of EG-TL and the reported financial troubles and mass player releases of Woongjin Stars left a Proleague line-up of potentially only five teams but as is, the next season will be back to a full eight-team line-up. Not having a deep enough roster, last season's runner-ups Woongjin Stars will drop from the Proleague and the tournament will feature CJ, Samsung, Green Wing, Prime, IM, MVP, SKT and KT. There is still no official announcement about a LoL Proleague, but the mention of a "LoL World Cup" and the addition of Najin Sword - a team that only has LoL and Tekken rosters - certainly points in that direction.
According to Inven, KeSPA's chairman also talked about a so called "next generation e-sports action plan" that will consist of opening KeSPA's doors to every party that wants to join and applying to be a formal member of the Korean Sports Council. The decision for the latter will be brought up at said Council's January 2014 meeting.
