Pacific times two in the GEST final

It is down to teams from the Philippines battling with more teams from the Philippines and anyone who follows DotA knows that a premise like that is bound to get entertaining. The final will feature double Pacific, as opposed to last months final of double Gigabyte, since both Pacific.Palit and Pacific.eMaxx advanced to the final

JuLz once again picked Queen of Pain for himself but this time it got countered to a higher degree. Palit did not let Dreamz get their free-play game they are so fond of. Palit's Windrunner, Sandking as well as Rubick doing work shutting down Queen of Pain and Anti-Mage of Dreamz during the skirmishes. RCG of Palit played a Morphling like we have seen before this tournament (Midas + Boots of Travel) and this time it really worked out, he got them early and could start securing his next items rather quickly. Palit also picked up Lycanthrope as a last pick, adding a lot of midgame pressure. Dreamz could not keep up and their Anti-Mage never became a force. Players of the Philippines really love multiple Necronomicons and this game was no exception. Pacific.Palit move on to the final while Dreamz gets bumped down to the 3rd place decider.

Pacific.eMaxx went with the Weaver as their main source of late game damage together with Queen of Pain. Invoker and Anti-Mage for iZone. The game started well for eMaxx, gaining a good chunk of map control while iZone is delaying their late game by building both Vanguard and Battlefury. An amazing series of events at Roshan by the 30 minute mark really placed iZone back in the game. They managed to pick off Earthshaker and Queen of Painwhile eMaxx were going for Roshan, unfortunately not without losses. However, a perfectly timed blink in by Sand King stunned out both Weaver and Ancient Apparition and killed them with Epicenter when Roshan is about two whacks from dead. Anti-mage blinked in at the same time, finished off the Roshan and stole the Aegis. They perfected it by catching a fleeing Dark Seer afterwards and claiming his life too. After the death of Roshan, eMaxx's play felt a bit stressed and not as confident as before, they did manage to get a good initate resulting in the destruction of iZone's mid barracks. iZone's Anti-Mage finished his Manta Style and started to deal a lot of damage in the clashes, making the game even harder for eMaxx. Lots of tense big fights followed, especially when next Roshan was up, Anti-Mage bought back after dropping in a fight vs Weaver and with the buyback he could secure the Aegis for himself. The match is very even but eMaxx is still the team applying the pressure, especially since they've already taken down mid barracks. After 60 minutes they kill score is tied at 40-40 but iZone's Anti-Mage is basically free to do anything he wants to do, the big ultimates such as Echo Slam, Epicenter and Wall of Replica have not been used all that efficiently for quite some time now. iZone faced the problem of being too reliant on Anti-Mage though and after he got shut down during a fight, eMaxx managed to kill everyone else on his team and then managed to clean out top barracks followed by iZone throwing in the towel after 65 minutes.
