SK looks to go one better at campus party

37247c07b2a452a9ef76e9ed197bf47551dabdd12dbc95c07d5d04f73d.jpgJust days after their second place finish at IEM Cologne, SK Gaming will be looking to go one stage further at Campus Party.

After weeks and weeks of non-stop League of Legends, the action continues this weekend in Berlin. Campus Party will feature several teams from last week's IEM Cologne as well as a handful of teams looking to prey on any signs of fatigue from that event. The tournament kicks off today, with the first game already live between Curse and Mousesports. These two teams look like relatively clear favourites for the top two spots in the group, but the skill gap between the four teams in Group A is less significant than in Group B.

Curse will be looking for revenge after Fnatic knocked them out in the opening round of IEM Cologne. They should make it through the group at least, but whether or not they get a shot at Fnatic depends on how the groups shake out. As the nearest thing to a home team, Mousesports will give Curse a real battle for first place in the group, while MYM and BLACK are both capable of giving any team a difficult game.

The leading lights are surely SK and Fnatic, who will meet tomorrow in the opening group stage. With the two favourites meeting early on there is a real chance for one of them to be upset by either Ecylpsia or Tt, though either of those teams beating SK or Fnatic would a pretty huge upset. The real story is whether or not SK can continue their recent improvement and take home the whole tournament. They looked exceptional going into their finals match against M5 at IEM, but were absolutely destroyed in that game. This weekend will tell us a lot about the SK team's resilience on the road to the all important Season Two Championship.
