The Defense just finished, probably being the last really major tournament prior to The International. TI-invitee coL showing off a really convincing shape where they managed to take out TI-reserve mouz. Needless to say, it's looking great for the North American team who have had a stable roster for as long as anyone can remember. All that remains to be seen is whether or not they manage to transition these results from online tournaments to offline tournaments.

ixmike88Prophet once again made it through the ban stage and was picked up by coL. It was a game of trades. Mouz secured a massive farm for Black^'s Morphling by sending him middle lane vs the Prophet. As expected, Prophet teleported away from the lane a lot, hence giving Black^ farm. However, for this trade coL got a lot of control of the top lane, where TC's Lone Druid was given a solid start of the game. CoL claimed a lot of kills and towers in the earlier stages of the game before it went into somewhat of a stand-off. CoL still applied pressure though, and Black^'s still farming. Mouz managed to defend for a while, but after an unsuccessful initate passed the river, they got wiped and lost all of their raxes in a matter of seconds. Game set compLexity.

BamboeBoth the teams sent their trilane bottom lane, which resulted in TC's Morphling getting more kills than mouz would have liked him to. But coL also shipped in Lich and Prophet from top and mid lane to ensure this, meaning Clinkz and Shadow Shaman got their farm up. CoL took control early but mouz regained momentum after a prolonged fight at the Rosh pit. The game got more even from there on. But after two very one sided fights from mouz, coL called it and set aim for game 3.

ixmike88Game 3 started with both teams getting a decent number of kills in their safe lanes within the first 10 minutes. Mouz got their Brood once again, to play the side lane split push game they love to play. CoL managed to get a couple of kills followed by a Roshan kill after a somewhat even early game. After that coL got a firm grip around the game with their fearsome clash potential and the global presence of the Prophet. Black^'s Viper just wasn't doing anything in the skirmishes. It scaled pretty one-sided into the coL's victory, making the score 2-1.

BamboeA lot of firepower was coming out of mouz' picks, with the unusual Ogre and Jakiro joining the ranks. Once again there was a trilane vs trilane at the safe lane of coL, and once again coL was winning it. Mouz' trilane didn't really work out at all and similiar to the previous games, Jeyo's Prophet was adding value all over the map. CompLexity took the game under their wings. Black^ still managed to get some kills with Morphling though. After a while CoL destroyed the bottom melee rax, and continued shortly to knock on the mid door. A huge fight followed and every hero in mouz was bought back(!) to stall coL for a while. But you can't fight the inevitable. CompLexity scoring 3-1.
CompLexity wrote The Defense-history, as we see a completely new top compared to last season, where Na`Vi won it over Quantic Gaming (the Danish one) with Evil Geniuses taking the third place.
