China's Vici Gaming have disbanded after a relatively disappointing finish at The International 2026.

Vici Gaming have announced the disbandment of their Dota 2 roster mere moments after their elimination from The International (TI) 2026. The announcement came from a Weibo account of Vici Gaming's owner himself, who simply said the team has disbanded.
Vici Gaming are parting ways with their star-studded roster, comprising TI6 champions 
Zhang “Bach” Ruida and Yiping “y`” Zhang, renowned veterans Hongcheng “Xm” Guo, Xuanang “Shiro” Guo, and Zixing “XinQ” Zhao, as well as coach Yao "Yao" Zhengzheng. With the disbandment, it remains unclear whether the organisation will continue competing in the Dota 2 scene or quietly retreat once again, as it has done in the past.
Vici Gaming wrap up two-year return to the Dota 2 scene
Vici Gaming is one of the most prominent Dota 2 organisations in China, boasting a prolific track record dating back to the early days of competitive Dota 2. The organisation finished second at TI 2014 and fourth at TI 2015 with plenty other notable results.
However, as the Chinese scene dwindled over the past decade, Vici Gaming became one of the region’s top teams to leave the scene. The team departed competitive Dota 2 in May 2023 following the dissolution of Valve's Dota Pro Circuit.
To the community’s delight, the organisation made a quiet return two years later, fielding a roster led by legendary player Chengjun “Paparazi灬” Zhang in the TI 2025 qualifiers, although the attempt failed to produce the coveted result. Vici Gaming would then retreat into the shadows until a year later, when they officially assembled a roster to compete in the 2025–2026 competitive season.
Their proper return was marked by turbulent results, with a Top 8 finish at PGL Wallachia Season 7 representing their best result at the time. That changed when the team found a resurgence of form at the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026, pulling off upsets against several top contenders to finish fourth at the landmark event.
The result raised hopes for Vici Gaming heading into TI 2026, but unfortunately, those expectations failed to materialise.
A lacking run at TI 2026 leads to immediate disbandment
Vici Gaming’s journey at this year’s championship tournament had been somewhat decent, with enough wins to escape the first round of elimination. In the Group Stage, the team suffered defeats to Team Liquid and Nigma Galaxy, both of whom eventually qualified directly for the Playoffs. They also fell to fan favourites LGD Gaming, but recovered with wins over HULIGANI and GamerLegion.
The team's 2-3 win-loss record allowed Vici Gaming to survive another day. However, their clash against 
Team Falcons in the Elimination Round ended in a swift 0-2 defeat, sealing their exit from the tournament in 9th–13th place–a relatively low finish given their fourth-place result at the Dota 2 Esports World Cup 2026 just a month prior.
Vici Gaming missed out on the Playoffs and the opportunity to compete on the Main Stage in front of a home crowd in Shanghai. The team disbanded shortly after their elimination, bringing their competitive season to a disheartening end.
