As championship Sundays continues on its way along comes the wonder if this tournament can see Socke or Sase underline their long-time fame with a fresh and juicy MLG finish.
Polt took game one in a quick fashion after meeting Oz in the middle of the map after long periods of passivity. The terran was swift in hunting down the colossi of Oz, allowing himself to pour a massive DPS onto the protoss army with his bio and win the game.

Game two was much closer with Oz opening with a quick third and a sentry-heavy aggression to cover it. After stabilizing, the terran issued a series of drops that evened the scales a little, making Oz switch into a defensive position if he wanted to keep his tech alive and this was the main thing that kept Polt in the game. In the end, however, it came down to a direct engagement and Polt could not EMP to his best and was melted by psi-storms. Game three was very resemblant to the previous, with Oz going for a fast third but now the 6-gate pressure never came. Instead, Polt was the one in command this time. The constant drops split Oz's otherwise big army into pieces which the terran then hunted down and eradicated for the 2-1.
Apparently, there have been temporary problems with the other gameplay streams but different twitter sources kept feeding vital information about the other matches. In the Swedish mirror between Sase and Haypro, Liquid's zerg fell 0-2 after losing a tense game one before getting brood lords out and then suffering a forcefield punishment after a 2-base colossus opening to say goodbye to MLG WC.
Socke kept his tournament live after surviving an arduous PvZ against CrazymoviNG. The zerg who reached the pool play after crushing the open bracket utilized some mutalisk centric play in games one and two. As Socke's dominating prism/stargate play brought the series to a tie, the German opened with a cannon rush with blink stalkers as his mid-game transition of choice, eventually defeating CrazymoviNG's 2-base hydra roach.
In the unstreamed match, Golden fell to Ret 2-1 and the last remaining Liquid player is going to face JYP next.
