Daniel 'Skyzoe' Marklund from Lions eSportsklubb has been interviewed by blackfade.org. In the interview they discuss the whole situation with his former team as well as the reasons in which he did not move to DotA 2.
Sören 'Fantasy' Vendsahm:
Hello Skyzoe, thanks for the opportunity talking to you in these times. The question that I have to start with is of course about the whole ex-Lions situation. What happened there exactly inside the team?
Daniel 'Skyzoe' Marklund:
“
First of all, I'd like to make it clear that I don't have any bad feelings towards anyone in my old team, even though they could've managed the situation in a better and more mature way than they did. After NASL we kind of felt that with the scene being really inactive, it wasn't really worth the 3-4 hours we put in everyday and only got to play a few scrims (if we were lucky). This made us go inactive for about a month around Christmas, with me being the one probably playing the least HoN. I won't go into details about why I was the one being forced out, but people inside the team felt that we needed a new start to be able to get back on track. Maybe it's worth noting that this new start fell apart within 24 hours of me being out of SEK, still not sure about why that happened.”
Sören 'Fantasy' Vendsahm:
... Do you see yourself climbing to the top of the world with this team as well?
Daniel 'Skyzoe' Marklund:
“
I can definitely say we can become the top team in the world, and with the scrim results we've had so far I'd say it's over my expectations. It will take a while until we can play at our fullest potential and for people to get used to a new team, but I think we are getting there. At the moment I'm trying out as many different hero lineups/strats as possible to find our style as a team.”
Sören 'Fantasy' Vendsahm:
Let’s talk a bit about Dota 2 then, have you tried it out at all?
Daniel 'Skyzoe' Marklund:
“
Yes, I have, and I didn't like it at all. Since i have no experience from DotA, I felt that it was really slow and the animations were just bleh.”
