Duran "Xeris" Parsi (left), StarCraft veteran and head of Fnatic's StarCraft 2 team, has chosen not to renew his contract with Fnatic. His own and Fnatic's visions for 2012 were diversed so the two parties decided to go seperate ways.- "I think Fnatic is going in a really good direction right now, and I would never have felt like I could leave the team if I wasn't confident that they could continue on their path well without me," says Parsi in a post on TeamLiquid.net. He added, "I don't want to spoil any of the things they're working on, but I feel like they'll be just fine! I have faith that 2012 will be a good year for them.
The Starcraft 2 manager also explains that he will focus fully on North American StarLeague and Collegiate StarLeague.
- I'd like to thank Duran for his overall service and committment to Fnatic. Ever since he wrote that email to us and I first had a chat with him I knew there was something special about him," says Elroy "Noname" Pinot, general manager of Fnatic. He added, "He really helped us grow in the SC scene and we're thankful for all his hours and work put in. In the end our vision for 2012 didn't really match and we'd like to wish him the best in his various endeavours in eSports."
Fnatic's StarCraft 2 squad consists of Yoan "ToD" Merlo, Jian Fei "IefNaij" Wang, Seo Yong "Rain" Park, Lok-Yin "KawaiiRice" Kwong and Silviu "NightEnD" Lazar. The team also has a StarCraft 2 academy squad consisting of three Koreans: August, Skit and Porigo.
