Jong Hyun "Mvp" Jung adds another gold medal to his list of achievements. The IM terran came victorious in today's grand final match against Chinese zerg Xigua to earn the $20,000 prize check as well as the title of WCG 2011 champion.

Mvp entered the playoffs undefeated from his group and continued to dismantle his opponents including MacSed, BlinG and Kas. His final obstacle was the promising Chinese representatives Xigua, who had an even more impressive run not dropping a single set through his journey towards the grand final. Mvp, however, was ruthless towards the zerg and the thus far flawless Xigua fell 0-2 to the best Korean terran.

WCG 2011 standings
1 Korea Jong Hyun Mvp Jung, $20.000
2 China Lei Xiagua Wang, $5.000
3 Ukraine Mihaylo Kas Hayda, $2.000
4 Russia Oleg Titan Kuptsov

WCG 2011 had the additional task of determining the final participant at GomTV's Blizzard Cup and it did so although in a very indirect fashion. Mvp's WCG win is the third that would qualify him for the tournament (including the gold medal Blizzcon 2011 and being the leader of the GSL ranking) so this gave the fourth and fifth in the GSL ladder to earn spots themselves, those being MMA and Polt, respectively.
