A lengthy day of competition at DreamHack Winter 2011 determined the four semifinalists of the MSI BEAT IT Heroes of Newerth Tournament.

A little over half of the group stage matches were played on Day 1, but at the start of Day 2, the question remained: which teams would advance to the Top 6 bracket? The BYOC winners still had a bulk of their matches to play, and playoff scenarios started to take shape as the Day 2 matches got underway.

It was no surprise that Frenetic Array, FnaticMSI, and Trademark eSports, the leaders of Group A after Day 1, made it out of their group. The Aussies managed to go 2-0 on Day 2 to lock up their first-round bye in the playoffs bracket.

Group B was dominated by Lions eSportsklubb, who went undefeated through the entire group stage. SmackTrickz (ex-OK) got second in the group, and third place was a three-way tie between Team EZ, Reason Gaming, and Team Wahlin. The decision went to tiebreaker rounds, where Team EZ got revenge against Team Wahlin and then defeated Reason Gaming in a truly epic 80-minute game.

But Day 2 didn't end there. The teams played out the quarterfinal round, which had Trademark eSports winning 2-1 over SmackTrickz and FnaticMSI sweeping Team EZ.

The excitement continues on Day 3 at DreamHack with the semifinals and finals of the MSI BEAT IT HoN Tournament. The surprisingly strong Frenetic Array takes on the last American hope, Trademark eSports. FnaticMSI looks to defend their DreamHack title against the still undefeated Lions eSportklubb. Which two teams will meet in the finals? Stay tuned!
