It's time for all SC2 players to log in and start fresh with the new Season 4 of the Wings of Liberty ladder, now with updated map pool. Furthermore, Blizzard are integrating changes to the duration of each season.
Three maps will depart from the current line-up while some old favorites return to form the eight-map Season 4 pool. According to Blizzard, this setup is by no means unalterable and, depending on community feedback, it might be shifted towards a more tournament configuration.

As mentioned above, beginning with season 4, the duration of each season will be shortened down to approximately two months and the Grandmaster placement time will be downed to one week instead of two to match the new season length. That being set, we should expect a season lock by the end of this year.
