Twin Fangs: Gemini momentarily splits into fire and ice wolves, becoming temporarily invulnerable and traveling 800 distance in target direction. The wolves deal magic damage along their paths and cause a stun and nuke at their meeting point.
Twin Strike: A passive that makes each of Gemini's attacks hit twice, with the second hit being a small percentage of the first hit.
Fire and Ice: On activation, Gemini splits into two wolves, disjointing and removing debuffs. The wolves have the same attributes as Gemini's normal form. If one of the wolves die, Gemini dies. The wolves can recombine within 300 distance of each other, setting Gemini's health to the higher of the two. When in split form, Gemini's other abilities are modified.
Twin Breath becomes a split nuke, with the "fire" wolf causing the damage over time debuff and the "ice" wolf causing the movement slow.
Twin Fangs becomes a targeted leap strike that stuns for 0.5 seconds.
Twin Strike becomes an active skill that allows each wolf to channel briefly and teleport to the other.
The canine hero that we saw in the leaked HoN 3.0 screenshots now has a name: Gemini. He won't be released until Friday, but this spotlight video already gives us a pretty good idea of how he will be used in an actual game.
Twin Breath is reminiscent of Twin Head Dragon's Dual Breath (DotA). It seems like a solid AoE ability that can clear creep waves and help in ganking. Being able to split the two debuff effects while in Fire and Ice forms allows you to do things like chase down two different targets at once.
Twin Fangs can be compared to a stun like Magmus' Lava Surge, except with two separate arcing paths. The set 800 distance and the wide shape of these paths makes it a bit harder to land, and easier to juke. The Fire and Ice version gives you two shorter duration stuns that can't miss, which isn't nearly as unique as the normal ability.
Twin Strike is Gemini's passive ability that you'll most likely want to build around. In the same way that Master of Arms is built, an increased number of attacks means increased effectiveness of items such as Nullfire Blade, Thunderclaw/Charged Hammer, and Savage Mace.
Fire and Ice has the obvious comparison to Silhouette's Shadow ability. The difference is that Gemini's split ultimate form can be spoiled by one of the wolves dying, but the ability of the wolves to recombine can break disables and restore health, in a way.
Gemini appears to be a high skill cap, micro-intensive hero with similarities to Silhouette and Master of Arms. In fact, I see his carry potential being a little higher than Master of Arms'; he doesn't have the best passive ability, but strong early-game abilities combined with a powerful ultimate and the right items can push him over the top. One major drawback is that he's a melee hero, but he does have some excellent escape tools at his disposal.
If you were surprised that no new hero was released in last week's patch, read this thread about S2 Games' recent schedule adjustment for heroes. And look forward to playing Gemini this Friday!
