ESFIWorld reports of a source saying how IGN Professional League will host their first live event some time this year. The spoken to source also mentions a six figure prize pool. The source, said to stand close to the IPL, revealed that there is a "strong possibility" that the event will have two more game titles added to the competition.
ESFI reports a spotting of S2 Games' eSports Manager Shashi Singh with IPL-branded dog tags during MLG Anaheim which could very well be an indicator that Heroes of Newerth will be one of the future games for the tournament.
Heroes of Newerth has already been added into the second season of the North American StarLeague, and is speculated to get picked up by Major League Gaming in one of their pro circuit events.
Nothing of this can be found on the IPL website as of now. The StarCraft 2 competition is in the second round of the lower bracket, with 28 players left. An announcement for the third season could very well come at the tournament finish on August 14.
