The new season of Intel Extreme Masters will feature a much increased money pool compared to its past editions and will also offer a different composition of games.

ESL World announced yesterday, that the sixth season of Intel Extreme Masters will come out with the giant $635,000 prize pool, which is more than a 50% increase from last season's $400,000. IEM V featured a total of five separate tournaments with the best players gathering in Hanover, Germany for the World Championship.

It has been further said that ESL will drop Quake Live and will include League of Legends in its place, setting the trinity of disciplines to StarCraft 2, CS 1.6 and LoL. This decision has raised a lot of controversy and eSport fans are again in a heated dispute if this is a correct move from ESL's side.

There is still no information of how will the prize pool be distributed along different tournaments and disciplines or when the season itself shall begin. However, ESL World promise that updates shall be posted soon and so we shall keep you informed about the changes as soon as they become available.
