Parasite infests Newerth this Friday

This week's new addition, Parasite, is featured in the latest Hero Spotlight video by S2 Games.

Leech: Single-target spell; steals movement speed for 4 seconds and deals moderate magic damage.

Infest: Allows Parasite to infest an allied, neutral, or enemy non-ancient creep, gaining bonus attack speed, damage, and movement speed. While infested, the creep loses 2% of max HP per second. Parasite can instantly kill its host, healing himself for a percentage of its current HP.

Draining Vemon: Passive ability; on attack, reduces all damage that the target deals to Parasite and increases all damage that he deals to the target.

Facehug: Leaps at a single foe, dealing magic damage, stealing target's buffs and transferring Parasite's debuffs, and silencing the target.

The video introduces Parasite as a jungling hero and a deceptive enemy in combat due to his powerful passive and the ability to swap buffs and debuffs. His Infest ability, inspired by the ultimate of DotA's N'aix, along with Draining Venom, seem to allow him to jungle with ease from an early level.

Also, note that Parasite is an Intelligence hero, making him only the second melee Int hero in HoN (the first of whom looks to be getting a "lucky" new alt avatar, Lepresmith).

The current meta-game doesn't involve many jungling strategies, but S2 has been trying to make jungling heroes more viable with recent buffs to Ophelia and Legionnaire. Will Parasite find a place in competitive play? Could he be an effective counter to heroes like Demented Shaman, Hellbringer, and Jeraziah, who rely heavily on buffs and debuffs?
