GosuGamers caught up with the winner from last Sunday's qualifier - Abdulaziz "CrunCher" Abed.
Interview with coLCrunCher- Razer StarCraft 2 GosuCup Qualifier #4 Winner
Q: Hey Cruncher, congratulations on qualifying for the Razer StarCraft 2 GosuCup group stage. How does it feel?
Thanks. It feels good.
Q: In game one you powered up and then did a big gateway push to win. Guide us through your thought process there.
I had a huge economy lead, and decided to just end the game with a gateway push.
Q: In game 2 you successfully 2-gateway proxied. Had you already decided pre-game that you were gonna go for that?
I just did it because I felt he had a weakness in his build, and he doesn't wall off.
Q: In game 3 you pulled almost all your probes along with your first stalker/zealot push and evidently won it. Did you spot his early Command Center?
I knew he doesn't wall off, and he likes to either expo or tech fast, so I just decided to punish him.
Q: Did you expect your career to spruce this far in StarCraft 2 when you made the switch from WarCraft 3? Did you expect the StarCraft 2 boom to be this big?
I knew SC2 would be way bigger than it was in wc3, but I didn't expect all these leagues to pop up. I just hope they are able to stabilize and keep going in the coming years.
Q: The games were not played on the 1.3.3 patch that came out just now, but what do you think of the changes that came with it?
They were good changes, I haven't yet had time to mess around with the PvP changes, but the archon change is really nice for PvT.
Q: Thoughts on the qualified players so far? Who would you least want to have in your group?
I aim to take first place, and to do that, I have to defeat every player, so the groups don't matter too much to me.
Q: Do you have anything to say to your fans and supporters?
Thanks to all my fans, and thanks to my team complexity, and our fantastic sponsors, Creative, PNY, QPAD, and ORIGIN PC.
