Match 1 SlayerS_MMA versus oGsHyperdub

Game 1 @ Metalopolis
The first game of the day opened up with a bang, a very large bang. Hyperdub spawned at the 12 o'clock position and MMA at the 6. MMA would start with a Reaper scout and builds an early command center inside his own base while Hyperdub elects to go a Hellion, Ghost and Nuke build. The Reaper scout for MMA would only find a reactored Factory and a Barracks with a tech-lab, but misses the Ghost Academy. Eventually Hyperdub would make his move and push towards MMA's base.

The nuke was very useful in opening up MMA's ramp for Hyperdub to run up. Forcing MMA to move back, Hyperdub would run up and take down a handful of MMA's SCVs. MMA does defend against the attack quite well and the SCV losses that he took earlier were quickly recovered. The extra command center that he had built earlier would help him make an easy come back. MMA took very little time in matching Hyperdub's economy again and even surpasses it. After several Marine drops by MMA, Hyperdub would GG. Despite using a very clever Nuke push, Hyperdub's single Orbital Command could not match up to MMA's double Orbital Command in the end.

Game 2 @ Crevasse
The second game moved at a much slower pace than the first. After opening the first game with a Nuke push, Hyperdub elects to open up with a fast expansion instead. MMA on the other hand took a much more aggressive opening with a quick 1 gas Banshee. Having only one gas meant that there would be no cloak once the Banshee came out and in fact only one Banshee would be made. MMA's Banshee evens the field for him with a bunch of SCV and Marine kills and Hyperdub's slight economic advantage would be erased. With very little harassment coming from either player, the game ends in an unspectacular fashion. With MMA parked outside his base, Hyperdub attempts a rash push into MMA's forces but is obliterated. MMA would take the first match of the day 2-0.

Match 1 IM_Nuts versus ST_Bomber

Game 1 @ Xel'Naga Caverns
The second match of the day was a Protoss versus Terran between IM_Nuts and ST_Bomber. Nuts opens up with a 3gate expand while Bomber techs to a cloaked Banshee harass. This Banshee harass would tally up a huge kill count, and decimates the mineral lines of Nuts'. The game would end quite quickly after Nuts falls behind economically. A push of Marines, SCVs, Siege Tanks, Banshees, and a Raven would end the game in Bomber's favour.

Game 2 @ Crossfire
Game number 2 started with Bomber putting on early pressure with a few Marines and Marauders. This is quickly fought back by Nuts who pushes Bomber all the way back to Bomber's own ramp. Nuts will sit outside Bomber's base and contain him, but moves back just in time before Bomber can maneuver around the contain to attack his forces. After being pushed back, Nuts would be forced to defend against multiple MM drops by Bomber. Nuts doesn't take any significant damage, but is forced to sit inside his base for the majority of the game. When both armies finally meet in the battlefield away from Nuts' base it would turn into a simple and easy victory for Bomber. Despite well placed forcefields by Nuts, three easy EMPs would render Nuts' entire army shieldless. Bomber would mow down Nuts' army for an easy win.

Match 3 CreatorPrime.WE versus SlayerS_Ryung

Game 1 @ Terminus RE
Game 1 was a long macro game as both players decided to fast expand to their naturals. Creator would attempt a small harass in the beginning with two Stalkers, but is driven back by a group of Marines. There would be no action until both players took their third bases. Creator would sneak two Dark Templars into Ryung's base causing a little bit of havoc and killing just under a dozen SCVs. At the same time, Ryung would drop two Medivacs full of Marines and Marauders into the back of Creator's base. Despite the large amount of units, the drop was ineffective in causing any considerable damage to Creator. The huge macro game continued and it came down to one final battle. Despite having four Ghosts out on the field and several EMPs, Ryung's forces would fall to Creator's army of varied Protoss units. Sentries would split and trap Ryung's army while Zealots tanked some of the damage. High Templars were also present to Psi Storm Ryung's army and a few Immortals were left to help clean up the battlefield. Game one would go to Creator.

Game 2 @ Metalopolis
The players spawned cross-position from each other with Creator spawning to the West and Ryung to the East. Both players played it safe and took expansions early. There was little to no harass from either player other than a double Medivac drop by Ryung that caused very little damage to Creator. It wasn't until that Creator amassed 5 Colossi that a large battle occurred. With these 5 Colossi and an army of tier 1 units, Creator would attempt to break Ryung's defences, but failed. Hoping to maybe break Ryung before he could rebuild his defences, Creator would attempt a quick second push, but once again failed. Except this time he would fall too far behind having only two bases while Ryung sat comfortably on three. The game would go to Ryung.

Game 3 @ Tal'Darim Altar
The final game of Match 3 would be another safe macro game by both players as they took their expansions fairly early. Once again there would be very little harass from either player in the early game so it came down to a mid-game push. Despite his failed drops in his first two games, Ryung's drop in the third would be what won him the game. Creator would make a mid-game push with a Zealot heavy tier 1 army into Ryung's base and basically disable his natural. Just as this was happening Ryung would drop two fully loaded Medivacs of Marines and Marauders into Creator's base. Ryung would disable Creator's ability to rebuild his army by unpowering Creator's warpgates, while Ryung was free to produce safely inside his main. Ryung would eventually walk through Creator's front door with reinforcements and take the match.

Match 4 SlayerSBoxeR versus TSL_aLive

Game 1 @ Dual Site
Boxer has always been known for his crazy strategies and proxy builds and once again he did not disappoint. Boxer would proxy a Factory and Starport on his way to making cloaked Banshees. At one point aLive's scouting SCV had almost scouted out the proxy, but to a huge sigh of relief from Boxer's fans the SCV missed it by an inch. To hide his tech Boxer even goes as far as destroying his second Refinery after he had mined enough gas for cloak research and a Banshee. That way, when aLive scanned Boxer's base he only saw one Refinery. If aLive was even more clever, he might have clicked on the empty geyser to check the gas count on it. It didn't matter though because aLive must have suspected something was up.

By the time Boxer's first Banshee had several kills on it, a Raven was already out for aLive. Boxer's map control was gone once the Raven had entered the game. There would be no way for Boxer's Banshees to keep aLive from pushing out and taking the map. aLive would pump out an army on one base, while Boxer was handcuffed having expanded instead of making units. aLive would eventually push into Boxer's base and take the game.

Game 2 @ Terminus RE
Boxer elected to go a much more standard build in Game 2 while aLive on the other hand pumps out a single Banshee for harass. The Banshee gets off a few Marine kills before it's eventually shot down by a Viking. The game would continue into the mid-game with both sides positioning themselves across from each other in the middle. Boxer would attempt a drop but is quickly chased away before he could even kill a single unit. aLive on the other hand uses a drop to distract Boxer while he maneuvered his units in the middle to run around Boxer's units. With nothing to block his way, aLive pushes up into Boxer's natural and forces Boxer to sacrifice a large amount of SCVs to fight off his push. At this point Boxer would fall behind in economy and army and aLive would never lose the lead. A few times in the long game it looked liked Boxer could make a come back, but it was almost impossible. aLive would eventually take game two having out maneuvered Boxer in the end.
