Starting the tournament in the open bracket, Team Dignitas' Johan "Naniwa" Lucchesi went through 28 games over the three-day event period before he could win Major League Gaming's Pro Circuit Dallas stop.

Excluding the two losses in the grand final against Jonathan "KiWiKaKi" Garneau, Naniwa went undefeated throughout the Texas event. After a flawless run in the open bracket, Naniwa landed in Group D. Defeating North American stars Tyler "Nony" Wasieleski, Andrew "drewbie" Moysey, Mihai "Mihai" Avrigeanu and Bryce "Machine" Bates he reached the winner bracket.

With three wins away from raising the trophy, the Swedish Protoss went through team mate Kyung Hyun "SeleCT" Ryoo (2-0) in the winner bracket final after having disposed his soon-to-be grand final opponent KiWiKaKi in the semi final.

The grand final series started with Naniwa ahead 2-0 because of their semi final match. And it seemed like Naniwa would be able to take home the tournament without losing a single game after winning the first grand final game on Shattered Temple to go up 3-0. But the Canadian ROOT Gaming player took two consecutive wins, proxy-pyloning himself to 3-2 after wins on Metalopolis and Shakuras Plateau.

Team Dignitas could cheer in the end as Naniwa's stellar Colossus and Force field play could seal the deal. MLG is now spelled s-u-c-c-e-s-s within the Dignitas organization, seeing their Korean SeleCT take third place.
