The offline is the second event on the way to what will culminate in a Grand Final at DreamHack Winter 2011 in November. The winner of the event will go home with 100,000 SEK (€11,255 EUR). Top two finishers will also grab two wildcards to the DreamHack Summer 2011 event.
Gazing over to South Korea, the DreamHack administration presents "professional StarCraft booths to give attending players the best possible tournament experience".
- South Korea is the leading e-Sports nation in the world – and inspired by their development and community – we’re now taking e-Sports and StarCraft II to the next level in Sweden, said Fredrik Nyström, DreamHack Press officer.
- Spectating e-Sports and especially StarCraft II is like watching any other sports. It’s fun, intense and entertainment from the first second to final clashes between huge armies. You can’t host a eSports event in any better location then Kulturhuset and we’re very excited about taking e-Sports to the heart of Swedish culture, added Nyström.
The invited players will be announced during the week. Until then, here are the outlines of the participating players.
