The best overall player award was introduced to celebrate and recognise the skills and achievements by players who don't exactly fit into a certain category of an award. These players often possess very good versatility. Some offer extra things to their team such as amazing drafting skills along with in-game leadership, while some are just THAT good.
Nominees for Beat Overall Player 2010:

[EG] Allen "FujiApples" Tu Specialty:

Originally from an inhouse clan called TeL, FujiApples made a fairly silent transition into Loaded's lineup, often playing the support role on heroes such as Glacius. chu's inactivity mid year gave him the opportunity to shine on various roles, including on Magmus while usual player bkid took up the carry role.
His versatility has been incredibly helpful for a team like Evil Geniuses that does not possess any true support players, with him probably being the closest to one. He particularly excels at playing semi-carry gankers like Slither, but his most famed performance to date would probably be his Balphagore vs FnaticMSI at the CSN Final.

[MSI] Tal "Fly" Aizik Specialty:

Originally going by the game tag "Bot", Fly is the brains of FnaticMSI. He is arguably the best drafter in the game at the moment, often outpicking his opponents as shown by the demolition of Evil Geniuses at the World Cup winner's bracket final. He was also the 1st person to truely play a dominant Pandamonium in competitive games since chu back in beta.
Aside from being an amazing drafter, Fly offers lots of versatility to the roles he plays. Ranging from hard carries to junglers to initiators to support. You name it. Things look bright for this young lad, and who knows what he's got planned for the Grand Finals of the World Cup.

[DskB] Michael "capt`mike" Ross Specialty:

It's not a coincidence that People of Luzon [POL] went from one of the decent teams to the team that nearly beat EG after capt`mike joined. Taking up the leadership of the clan, capt`mike has time and again showed his strategic knowledge and ability to pull off the weirdest strategies including a Hammerstorm soloing the long lane.
The internal atmosphere and team synergy of DuskBin eSports could remind someone of the early days of We Heart Pigs, something that capt`mike should take credit for as their leader. His versatility allows him to alternate between almost all roles except for pure support.

[ze] Kai "H4nn1" Hanbueckers Specialty:

A player who needs no introduction to the people who've followed competitive DotA, H4nn1 had an amazing impact of both his teams when he was competitively active. Latency issues were probably why Team fiVe often deployed him as less carry-centric roles like Tempest but his time to shine came shortly when he joined KD Gaming along with LevenT.
Well-known as the 1st player to completely destroy a game with Fayde when she was 1st introduced, H4nn1 also plays a wide variety of heroes as compared to other top tier competitive players, even playing Rampage once. His absence at the beginning stages of DreamHack Summer was definitely a mild disappointment but what matters was that he made it in time and helped KDe win the grand final. He's also arguably the most respected non-competitive player amongst the competitive community.
[DWi] Trent "sLiCKz" Tucker Specialty:

Being from Australia and constantly playing on around 300ms ping, makes the fact that he's one of the best solo mid players all the more impressive. When EternalEnvy wasn't playing it was often sLiCKz's Forsaken Archer farm that kept DWi on par with EG in games back when they were the top 2 teams, even turning a game around single-handedly at one point.
His range does not end with solo carries and gankers, he's also had solid performances on support heroes such as Voodoo Jester and Witch Slayer. Overall he's a good all-rounder that fits perfectly into a team like DWi with players such as rYCHo and Tarano who are very specialized in their roles.
