The rumors that Starcraft 2 might cost a monthly fee in Russia have been confirmed yesterday. However Blizzard offers different options to acquire StarCraft 2.
First the DVD Version will cost most likely 999 rubles (approximately 25€), and grant access to Battle.net 2.0 for one year of gaming. Secondly, Russian customers can also buy the jewel-case version. This one will cost 499 rubles and give a 120 days access to Battle.net.
Afterwards, users may upgrade their product in order to gain permanent access to Battle.net or pay a monthly fee. The price for both options are still speculative but are supposed to be around 3€ for monthly fee and approximately 30€ for full-upgrade.
Blizzard states that the reason for this price-policy is that 60€ would be too much for some Russians to pay.
