SC II Gears: Handle your replays easier

Almost a month and a half into the StarCraft II beta, there is already a fan developed program that helps you search and organize your replays.

SC II Gears was created by András Belicza. The java-developed program provides a way for users to handle their replays easier without having to actually log into StarCraft 2 to find out such information as player names and maps. The program analyzes replays and provides such information as game statistics, player names, map names, and even a log of the in-game chat.

The program also provides other features such as an easier way to rename replays. For any player that has uploaded replays they know how frustrating it can be when all the replay names are saved automatically with the date and time of each game. SC II Gears allows the user to create a template of how they want their replays renamed and then rename all the replays in that format. You can choose to input from map name to player races into the name of the replay.

Another feature that has not been seen in other replay organizers is the ability to view a full in-game text log. This is an interesting feature which adds more depth to replay analysis as players can now review chat comments just by viewing the replay from SC II Gears to get a better sense of what went on during the match.

The program is going through further development, but version 0.60, the first public release is ready for download.
