MLBB: What we are watching this week

One final amazing week of Mobile Legends Professional League action is on the way, as we look to the Philippines for their champion to be crowned.

This week will see the last of the MPL tournaments for 2023 take place, with MPL Philippines Season 12 reaching its conclusion. With that, we will see the final two teams secure their spot for the M5 World Championship for later this year. With the likes of ECHO, AP.Bren, and even Blacklist International in the mix at the playoffs, it’s set to be an intense week of huge plays, marvellous picks, and unfortunate endings to some team’s seasons.

A new champion or a return to glory

Over the last few years, we have seen a mix of champions at MPL PH, with Blacklist International taking the reins from Bren Esports for a while before RSG Philippines joined the mix – and more recently, ECHO have taken over at the top. For Season 12, all four of those teams remain in the running to become champions once more, while previous challengers such as ONIC Philippines and Omega Esports will also be keeping their eyes on the prize.

From Wednesday, October 25, four of the six remaining teams will begin their MPL PH Season 12 playoff journey in two separate elimination series. Our eyes will be glued to our screens, as Blacklist searches for a way through to M5 without the star duo of Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” James, while ONIC hopes to see their latest lineup finally bring the team out from their fifth/sixth place slump of the last two seasons.

Omega will be hoping for the same as ONIC, having matched their fifth/sixth place finishes over the last two seasons, but their challenger may be a bit tougher, with RSG hoping to finally make it to the hallowed grounds of M5.

Having already witnessed some absolutely breathtaking MPL playoffs in recent weeks, MPL PH Season 12 should be one of the best, with best-of-five series right from the start, leading us up to a best-of-seven battle on the Land of Dawn to decide the champion. With both first and second-place teams securing a spot at M5 - which will be played on theses teams home ground of the Philippines, you can be assured that they will all come out swinging on Wednesday, October 25.
