Only one final weekend remains for the Mobile Legends Professional League Season 11 in Indonesia, and so far, there seems to be a big chance for nearly every team to make it through to the playoffs. On one side, ONIC Esports are already secured their upper bracket second round seeding, having conquered the region without much effort. However, everything below is still up for grabs, and Week 5 showed that some teams seem to want it more.

Geek Slate’s rise to power

It has never been an easy time for Geek Slate (previously Geek Fam), when it comes to the Mobile Legends Professional League in Indonesia, but Season 11 seems to have changed that. Having never placed higher than seventh/eighth, the collaboration with Slate Esports has awoken a brand-new side to the team. This recent weekend saw them cruise to victory over EVOS Legends, while Rebellion Zion gave them a tougher time, but they still took the victory to crawl into second place in the standings. With the final week approaching, and some tantalising series on the cards, Geek Slate could just find themselves in with a shot at an upper bracket spot.

The RRQ dilemma

Rex Regum Qeon had a rather interesting weekend, which saw them hand ONIC their first full series loss of the Regular Season, but also had them dropping a game to AURA Fire – before disaster struck. In their series against one another, AURA managed to secure a solid victory in game one, with an extremely tanky lineup featuring Akai, Phoveus, and Khufra – with Ling and Pharsa for main damage. Unfortunately for AURA, the series was cut short, due to technical issues that meant that the series would be postponed. This could either give RRQ a good chance to re-evaluate and avoid a loss, or AURA the upper hand. At time of writing, it’s unknown when the game will be played, but with a full weekend of 11 series on the way, there could be issues fitting it in. With that said, AURA are not getting out of last place any time soon.

All-in-all, the penultimate weekend saw some great series, with Alter Ego even managing to pickup a victory, although they remain in seventh place going into Week 6. It is going to be a gigantic battle in the final week, as teams fight for spots 2 through to 7 all up for grabs. The teams will be looking to put their best foot forward and fight for each and every win or loss right to the end.
