Orange Esports forfeit their spot at MPL MY Season 11

Orange Esports has announced that they will be disbanding, and thus forfeit their spot in the Mobile Legends Professional League in Malaysia.

Since Season 5 of the Mobile Legends Professional League in Malaysia, before it even split from Singapore, Orange Esports have been a team that has excelled. With top-three finishes on four occasions and a second place in Season 9, Orange has always been an organisation to lead players onwards and upwards. After another third-place finish in Season 10, Orange would drop their entire roster once more, and we expected to see them rebuild from the ground up – but not this time. Announced on February 16, 2023, Orange Esports has officially disbanded, leaving their spot in MPL MY open for another team to fill.

In their statement, seen above, the organisation speaks of their time within the MPL and the triumphs they have accrued – before confirming that they will be forfeiting their spot in the upcoming Season 11. Although no reason has been stated for their departure, Orange added that Moonton will be working on acquiring a new team to fill in their spot, before thanking Moonton, their fans, their ex-players, and the greater MLBB community too.

At the current time of writing, Moonton have yet to officially announce who will be taking the place of Orange, it is also unclear whether Orange Esports will be back in Season 12 later in 2023, or if they will be made to play through the qualifiers further down the line to re-enter MPL MY. For now, we will have to wait and see what happens as we bid farewell to Orange Esports.

Meanwhile, Team Secret, the popular esports organisation that has strong roots in Malaysia as its PUBG Mobile team operates here, has posted a blatant hint on its social media. Will Team Secret be joining MPL MY Season 11? If so, who will be on the roster? Stay tuned while we find out more!
