The first day of May surely isn’t April Fool’s day, but a hilarious bug has been discovered by popular League of Legends (LoL) content-creator, Vandiril, who is known for spotting bugs in the game. This bug appeared after Patch 25.09 rolled out on 30 April.
In Vandiril’s one-minute video, after Blitzcrank returns to base, the Recall button appeared in the item shop and can be sold. At this point, the Recall button will not be available throughout the game, which meant that the player can no longer teleport back to base.
There’s also no way to get back the Recall button throughout the game, so the player would either have to take a hike back to their own Nexus and encounter opponents along the way, or just deliberately die after getting into a skirmish.
Curiously, the Recall button holds no monetary value — the vendor won’t offer you a single gold coin for it. So if you happen to sell this essential ability by mistake, you won’t receive any compensation at all.
Vandiril’s clip only shows Blitzcrank and other characters in not so stressful situations. However, this becomes especially challenging whenever a player is in an intense, fast-paced match. The Recall button is just right beside the other items and can easily get sold with just a click. So aside from the possibility of losing one’s Recall button through misclicking, players wouldn’t gain anything from it.
Since the bug appeared two days ago, it has not yet been addressed by devs at Riot Games. For now, unless two teams of players agree to modify what could potentially be a frustrating match, by having everyone sell the Recall button, everyone would have to take extra precaution when playing any game, especially if it’s a Ranked match.
