Gen.G Esports brings in a new bot lane duo to finalise their 2023 season roster

Gen.G Esports brings in two new names to the squad.

The LCK off-season shuffle is still going strong as Gen.G Esports has finalised its starting roster for the 2023 season. After losing the likes of AD carry Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk as well as support player Son "Lehends" Si-woo, Gen.G brings in two new players to its starting lineup. This includes Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan from the Gen.G Challengers squad as well as Yoo "Delight" Hwan-joong from Brion Esports.

Having already lost one of the LCK's best AD carries to free agency, Gen.G has opted to go down the path of promoting their academy and challengers squad players to the starting team. This will provide great exposure and experience for Peyz, who has been one of the best AD carry players in the LCK CL this year.

As for Delight, he will be returning to the organisation that gave him his start in professional League of Legends. Having started with the Gen.G Academy team, Delight moved on to the T1 Academy team towards the end of the 2020 season before making the move to Brion Esports at the end of the year. He spent two seasons with Brion Esports, who have not been at their best.

Both players are seen as bright, creative players with plenty of potentials to prove themselves on the big stage. With three of Gen.G original squad signing contract extensions, they will also act as the team's anchors by bringing in some much-needed experience.

Gen.G was one of the LCK's best teams last season, finishing second in the spring while winning the title in the summer. Seen as one of the favourites to reach the grand finals of Worlds 2022, Gen.G was denied yet again, this time by eventual champions DRX.

With an all-new squad ahead of the 2023 season, Gen.G will have their eyes set once again on the top prize. They should be looking to start off on the front foot and that is by winning the LCK Spring Split. Having never been to the Mid-Season Invitational, this could be Gen.G's year to take it.
