Fnatic, TSM with fifth LCS grand finals in a row

Fnatic and Team Solomid continue to prove they're among the best teams in their region as once again they will be attending the LCS split grand finals.

After a 3-1 against Team Impulse, Team Solomid will attend their fifth LCS grand final in a row, not having missed a single concluding match since the league was established in 2013. The NA/Korea/Denmark quintet of Dyrus, WildTurtle, Lustboy, Santorin and Bjergsen is on the verge of bringing TSM a record third championship - an achievement no North American team has accomplished in the LCS so far.

What makes the LCS NA grand finals that much more intriguing is that for a fourth time in a row, TSM will face Cloud 9, who are also fighting for their third championship. The rivalry between the NA powerhouses began in the 2013 Summer Split playoffs where Cloud 9 blitzkrieg'ed TSM into a 3-0 submission. They did that again in the 2014 Spring playoffs and it wasn't until the summer half of the same season that TSM would strike back, edging out Cloud 9 in five-game nailbiter.

Considering the statistics, the match-up shapes up to be a close one. Both teams have been neck and neck during the regular season. Overall, Cloud 9 finished just one win shorter of TSM but are 1-1 in their direct confrontations. The calendars are marked for April 19th, when the 2015 spring champion will be decided.

Over in Europe, Fnatic continue to do what TSM have been doing in North America - make it to every LCS grand final possible. So far, Fnatic are up to three championships in four grand finals, making them the most successful team in western LCS. On April 19th, they're facing Unicorns of Love, the team which delivered arguably the biggest upset of the playoffs so far, 3-2'ing regular season winners SK Gaming.
