Xpecial has stated that the managers of Team Solomid have decided to bench Xpecial while they explore other options.
Alex "Xpecial" Chu, who has been playing with Team Solomid since early season one, has announced his retirement on his Twitch stream. He has not stated that it is a performance issue nor a decision based on the team. Instead, it was a manegerial decision to bench him from the team.
We will keep you posted as we find fresh information and confirm if this is true or not. As there is no official post on Solomid or NewsofLegends, we take this currently with a grain of salt. We've reached out for for further confirmation.
EDIT - Xpecial making the announcement , claiming they will start scrims without him tomorrow and that he is unsure if it is permanent. Once again, it is not performance related.
EDIT 2- Xpecial has stated that it could largely be due to attitude problems.
EDIT 3 - Travis Gafford of OnGamers confirms with his sources that this isn't a joke.
If there was any doubt, folks I've spoken to have said that this isn't a joke. Xpecial benched for the time being at least.

EDIT 4 - Wildturtle has been duoing with GleebGlarbu of Cloud 9 Tempest, who recently lost a chance at LCS during the promotional series.
EDIT 5 - Xpecial tweeting this pretty much guarantees that it is confirmed. Full details still unknown.

EDIT 6 - Reginald has released a statement on his Facebook:
Xpecial was benched because of his attitude. After hearing feedback from the entire team, I made the decision to bench him. In this period of time, I hope that he will refocus and review his actions. League of legends is a team game; just because you have the best players on a team does not mean you have the best team.
I have always made my roster decisions based on the entire team's feedback and would never make a business decision because of personal reasons. I truly believe that everything I do is to benefit TSM.
