Ninjas in Pyjamas team manager Martin “Deficio” Lynge tweeted today that he would be leaving the organization to pursue a full-time casting career.
The announcement comes following an incredibly hectic weekend for Ninjas in Pyjamas which saw them not only get disqualified from the EU LCS Replacement matches but also lose their veteran jungle player John “hyrqbot” Velly to retirement.
Deficio began his LCS tenure with the Copenhagen Wolves during the 2012 Summer Split before moving to Ninjas in Pyjamas. He played support alongside Ales “Freeze” Knezinek in a bot-lane humorously nicknamed “Defreezio” before moving to the manager position when the team acquired former Lemondogs player Alfonso “Mithy” Rodriguez.
He provided some casting as a part of the broadcasting desk during the Season 3 World Championships and also some analysis during IEM Cologne. Clearly he enjoyed his transition to a caster role and has decided to work alongside Riot full-time. His first cast well be with Joe Miller tomorrow as the EU LCS kicks off.
I have decided to leave @NiPGaming in order to pursue a fulltime caster career. Will be casting my first game LCS game tmw with @Joe_Miller
