Napkins in Disguise Disband

In a flurry of tweets and posts, started by jungler Christopher “ScubaChris” Lee, North American Challenger League participant and LCS hopeful Napkins in Disguise have disbanded.

The Napkins become the second NACL team to separate, with the entire Velocity esports roster having been released only a short while ago. Napkins in Disguise currently hold fourth place in the Challenger League Group B with a record of 8-12.

Some members of the team, namely ScubaChris and team manager Angel “theAngelVigil” Vigil, are retiring from the competitive scene as part of the decision, both having confirmed their future plans on Twitter.

The other members of the team remain mute over the reasons for the sudden disbanding, however support player Nicolas “Gleebglarbu” Haddad had this to say on reddit:

“While I'm not sure what the rest of the team is going to be up to, I'll still be playing competitively and looking at whatever options I have available to me. I wish all of them the best of luck in whatever they decide to do!”

Until otherwise confirmed, it seems that remaining members Gleebglarbu, Nicholas “nubbypoohbear” Harlan, Tyson “InnoX” Kapler, and Josh “Brunch” Abrantes intend to continue with their competitive careers.

The future of the team's spot in the NACL remains unclear, but according to posts made by the head North American LCS referee, J T “Riot Tiza” Vandebree, NiD could retain their current promotion standing if at least three members of the original team remain on the roster. However, if the team decides not to carry on, then there will be a qualifier match to determine which team will fill the vacancies.
