Twisted Minds, Nongshim Redforce, and OG are the first three teams to qualify for the Honor of Kings World Cup 2025.
Twisted Minds, Nongshim Redforce, and OG have become the first three Honor of Kings teams to qualify for the Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) 2025, the inaugural midseason tournament for Honor of Kings in 2025. Twisted Minds and Nongshin Redforce earned their spots as the champions of the Kings Major West (KMW) and Kings Major East (KME) leagues, respectively, while OG punched their tickets through the KWC Last Call qualifier.
Twisted Minds, Nongshim Redforce, and OG will face off against 14 other teams from the rest of the Honor of Kings regional leagues in the KWC, which will be hosted as part of the Esports World Cup 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Twisted Minds were crowned as champions of KMW Spring 2025 after beating OG 3-2 in the grand finals, while Nongshim Redforce battered Gen.G 3-1 to take the title in KME Spring 2025. The runners-up of the two leagues then faced each other in the KWC Last Call, where OG soundly swept Gen.G.
Twisted Minds' victory over OG was a shocker, as the latter looked unstoppable coming into the Playoffs. The only team that could get a game win against Twisted Minds was OG, who had already beaten them four times in the league: once in the Group Stage, twice in the Survival Week, and once in the upper bracket finals. However, the fifth time was the charm, as a 3-2 win in the grand finals meant Twisted Minds secured a slot in the KWC 2025.
While Nongshim Redforce's victory was almost a given on paper, they didn't look unstoppable coming into the Playoffs. They lost once in their road to the grand finals, as SCARZ from Japan defeated them once in Survival Week. Gen.G almost got Nongshim Redforce's number in the upper bracket finals, where the latter lost 3-2. However, their final meeting was anti-climactic, as Nongshim Redforce got a 3-1 victory over their closest rival.
The Honof of Kings World Cup 2025 will be held in July 2025 at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The best Honor of Kings teams from all across the world, including China, will gather in the tournament for a chance to prove themselves in Honor of Kings' inaugural midseason tournament.
