Monster Hunter Outlanders release date confirmed, launches in October 2026

Sharpen your blades and clear some space on your phone. A whole new hunt is almost ready to begin.

Monster Hunter Outlanders finally has a release date. Tencent's TiMi Studio Group and Capcom have confirmed that the open-world mobile Monster Hunter game will officially launch worldwide on 29 October, 2026, nearly two years after it was first revealed.

The official Monster Hunter Outlanders social media accounts announced the release date on Tuesday (29 September), confirming that pre-registration is now open ahead of launch. The mainland Chinese version will follow separately from 2027 onwards.

"Thank you for your patience, Adventurers! The official launch date for Monster Hunter Outlanders has been confirmed: October 29, 2026!" the team announced.

The release will send players to Aesoland, the setting for Outlanders' mobile open world built around exploration, gathering, crafting, building, and hunting either alone or with other players.

Monster Hunter Outlanders adds Charge Blade and a new Elder Dragon at launch

Alongside the release date, Monster Hunter Outlanders Producer Dong Huang shared a special message for players, revealing a couple of additions that will be waiting when the game launches.

"This game brings the series’ iconic hunting experience and weapon types to your smartphones," Huang said. "With new features such as: Adventurers, Buddies, original monsters, building system, and more."

More importantly, the launch version will introduce an original Elder Dragon called Ruger Aidal. Charge Blade will also join the game's weapon roster, giving hunters another familiar Monster Hunter weapon to take into Aesoland.

Outlanders has already differentiated itself from the mainline games through its Adventurers, who come with their own abilities and actions, alongside Buddies that can accompany players while exploring and hunting. Those systems were among the new features shown as the game moved through its closed beta tests following its Tokyo Game Show 2025 appearance.

Huang also made it clear that 29 October will only be the starting point for the game's content. "Going forward, we’ll keep expanding the game through updates, with more monsters, weapon types, areas, and Adventurer actions to deliver an ever richer hunting and exploration experience," he said.

What updates are planned for Monster Hunter Outlanders after launch?

Monster Hunter series Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto also released a separate message following the launch date announcement, pointing to the game's planned post-launch support.

In his Japanese-language message, Tsujimoto said additional monsters and weapon types are expected to arrive through future updates, while encouraging players to keep an eye on how Outlanders develops after release.

He also highlighted crafting and exploration, the game's original Elder Dragon, and its different Adventurer actions as some of the elements that will set Outlanders apart, describing it as a new take on Monster Hunter for smartphones developed by TiMi Studio Group under Capcom's supervision.

Monster Hunter Outlanders was first announced in November 2024, with TiMi and Capcom pitching it as a mobile Monster Hunter that would retain the series' hunting experience while opening up a larger world built for exploration.

The game later made its first public playable appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2025 before moving through multiple closed beta tests. Registration for its second Closed Beta Test opened earlier this year.

After almost two years of reveals and testing, Monster Hunter Outlanders is now one month away from launching on smartphones on 29 October, 2026.
