The ball of fur known as Jimothy is now a gaming sensation.
You might have heard of Jimothy, the raccoon with a deformed spine which went viral this summer due to its unusual appearance–sporting long legs and a rotund body. The furry internet celebrity has now made its way into the gaming sphere, as companies online throw Jimothy into the worlds of Halo, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, and World of Warcraft.
As for Dungeons & Dragons, Hasbro has even released a monster sheet for Jimothy, allowing everyone to add the quirky raccoon to their games!

Earlier this summer, a wild raccoon affectionately named Jimothy went viral online after being spotted in the neighbourhood of Ballard, Seattle, in the U.S. The raccoon is said to have been born with a rare physical condition that caused it to have a short spine–giving it a cryptid-like appearance when roaming around the neighbourhood.
Videos of Jimothy have gone viral online, with netizens noting the strange way in which it walks–with its head squished into its body and long galloping limbs.
The world of gaming is not exempt from Jimothy's virality. The little raccoon has scurried his way into the social media accounts of multiple game companies, such as World of Warcraft:

Warner Bros. Games noted that Jimothy has also found its way into LEGO Batman’s Gotham City–albeit not in brick-built form:
Among Us posted an adorable tribute to Jimothy, featuring a Crewmate and the little raccoon:
Dead by Daylight shared a slightly spookier version of Jimothy:
The Sims also shared an in-game Jimothy paired with a… slightly larger Jimothy:

Jimothy game mods
That’s not all, however. Video game mods have begun cropping up featuring Jimothy as well, allowing everyone to add the raccoon into their favourite games. Triptherift’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim mod, for example, adds Jimothy to the game as an interactable NPC. In the creator’s own words: “I made Seattle's current celebrity mascot for Skyrim. Because I can.”
For fans of the cosy farming life simulation game Stardew Valley, Kirbysteaks’ “Army of Jimothy” mod does exactly what it says on the tin. As a farm animal purchasable from Marnie, players can have as many Jimothys as they want–though these raccoons only have a small chance of bringing players Treasure or an Artifact Trove. Otherwise, you’ll mostly get trash and seeds–though one could argue that the gift of Jimothy’s companionship is more than enough.
At this rate, it won’t be long until Jimothy joins Fortnite as a sidekick. Until then, these mods will have to do.
