Two other characters from Solo Leveling: Arise may be coming to the island as well.
Fortnite players barely had time to breathe after the latest wave of rumours and releases, and now another one has been made official. Fortnite has finally pulled back the curtain on its long-leaked collaboration with Netmarble’s Solo Leveling: Arise, bringing Sung Jinwoo into the battle royale.
After weeks of speculation and dataminer chatter, Epic Games made the crossover official on Wednesday (18 February) with a teaser posted on its official X account.
The short clip shows the iconic notification screen seen by Jinwoo, reading: “You have acquired the qualifications to be a Fortnite player. Will you Accept?” It is a direct nod to what players and viewers see both ingame and in the anime.
The hype did not stop there. On Thursday (19 February), another teaser trailer dropped, this time showcasing Jinwoo and Igris.
The clip features Jinwoo using Shadow Extraction to include Igris in his ever growing Shadow Army: “Knight Commander Igris the Bloodred. Will you submit to my control? Arise… ARISE!” The moment confirms that this is not just a cosmetic cameo: it looks like Epic are leaning fully into Jinwoo’s Shadow Monarch fantasy. A better look at the Jinwoo and Igris skins are yet to be revealed.
According to prominent dataminers, Jinwoo may not be arriving alone. Reports suggest at least two additional character skins are planned for the collaboration, though Epic have yet to confirm who else could be joining the Island.
The Fortnite collab will be based Solo Leveling: Arise, not the anime
Interestingly, the crossover is modelled after Netmarble’s RPG interpretation of Sung Jinwoo rather than the anime adaptation. That means the skin reflects his design from Solo Leveling: Arise, which may particularly appeal to players who have been grinding the mobile title.
Solo Leveling: Arise is essentially a dungeon-crawler where you play through the story of the webtoon, starting from when Sung Jinwoo is a weak E-rank hunter. The gameplay focuses on fast action: lots of dodging, timing your skills, and swapping between different hunters to clear waves of monsters and huge bosses. While the main draw is "leveling up" Jinwoo and unlocking his shadow summons, it is a gacha game at its core.
The announcement of the collaboration comes hot on the heels of a flurry of crossovers in the past few months, including the arrival of Magik and Luna Snow from Marvel Rivals this week.
With teasers now live and the marketing machine in motion, it seems only a matter of time before the Shadow Monarch officially drops into Fortnite. The only real question left is: will players accept the quest?
