Quentin Tarantino reunites with Uma Thurman for long-lost Kill Bill chapter in Fortnite

Yuki’s come a long way to see the Bride.

Epic Games has officially confirmed that Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman are reuniting to release an all-new Kill Bill short film… in Fortnite. The animated short film, entitled “The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge,” is based on Tarantino’s early drafts for the Kill Bill movie script, and follows a sequence that was eventually cut from production.

The short film was made in collaboration with Tarantino and Thurman, with the latter providing motion capture work for the performance. Here's the trailer:

Quentin Tarantino’s Fortnite x Kill Bill short film release date announced

Fortnite’s upcoming Kill Bill crossover is turning out to be a lot bigger than fans might have originally expected. After showing up at a premiere for Fortnite Chapter 6’s finale, Quentin Tarantino and Uma Thurman are now confirmed to be reuniting for a unique animated in-game short film.

The Last Chapter: Yuki’s Revenge is an animated short produced by Tarantino and Thurman, in collaboration with Epic Games. Thurman’s performance was captured using motion capture technology, and translated into an in-game character model using the Unreal Engine. The short also includes other original Fortnite characters like Peely, suggesting that it’s very much excluded from the Kill Bill canon.

The short is based on a cut scene from Kill Bill: Volume 1’s early scripts, wherein the Bride (Thurman) once again comes face-to-face with Yuki, after the latter follows her back to the United States. Yuki is the sister of Gogo Yubari, who was killed by the Bride in the first movie. This scene, which follows Yuki and the Bride’s skirmish in the suburbs, was never put into production.

Judging by the trailer above, Tarantino’s upcoming Fortnite short preserves the essence of the original scene from his earlier drafts; albeit with a few additional Fortnite characters thrown into the mix. The short film will be shown in theatres starting from 5 December, 2025 in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, as part of a limited-time screening of Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair.

However, the short will also premiere digitally in Fortnite on 30 November, at 2pm ET. Fortnite Chapter 6’s finale will happen one day prior, on 29 November at 2pm ET.
