Palworld Palfarm reveal teases a Stardew Valley-like life sim crossed with Pokémon

What’s better than one Pokémon life sim? Two Pokémon life sims!

Palworld maker Pocketpair has announced its very first spin-off game, Palworld: Palfarm. The upcoming game puts a cosy life-sim twist on Palworld’s universe, inviting players to make a life for themselves with Pals on an idyllic farm. In a funny coincidence, the game was announced mere weeks after The Pokemon Company unveiled its own farming sim.

Pocketpair shows off new Palworld farming sim

Pocketpair is making a farming sim spin-off to its hit survival game Palworld. The game, entitled Palfarm, is said to bring the world of Palworld “into a brand-new farming experience,” taking after other cosy life simulator games like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing.

In Palfarm, players can transform a barren island into a thriving farm with the help of their Pals, who employ special abilities to keep their plants healthy. Their willingness to do so is in question, however, as the game’s Steam page ominously notes: “... Is one of your Pals slacking off? Time to teach them the joy of working.”

Besides working the farm, players can deepen their relationships with their Pals and various human residents on the island. A “special relationship” can be formed between players and either Pals or residents. Yes, that means you can romance your Pals. Do with that information as you will.

Palfarm also features combat, wherein players can take down ferocious Pals for resources. They can also sell crafted goods and crops in a marketplace, or buy guns and “suspicious fertiliser” in a forbidden black market hidden on the island.

Palfarm supports multiplayer gameplay, which means that you and your friends can all romance Pals and buy illegal guns together. The game currently has no release date, but is set to launch on PC.

Interestingly, Pocketpair’s Palworld farming sim was announced just weeks after The Pokémon Company announced its own life simulator game: Pokopia.
