Monster Hunter Wilds’ collab with Street Fighter 6 includes costumes and an Akuma hunter layered armour.
Capcom has officially unveiled an upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds x Street Fighter 6 crossover event. The event will add multiple cosmetics and in-game items to Monster Hunter Wilds, themed after Street Fighter 6, and is planned to launch in short order: 28 May, 2025. If you’ve ever wanted to punch a monster in the face with Akuma-themed gear, now’s your chance.
Here’s a trailer for the crossover:
Monster Hunter Wilds x Street Fighter 6: in-game Akuma gear
Monster Hunter WIlds is officially crossing over with Street Fighter 6. The crossover consists of several free in-game items and some paid DLC. However, one of its free items is arguably more enticing than anything else included in this crossover: an “Akuma” hunter full armour set and layered equipment.
Collectively, this gear set does exactly what it says on the tin. It transforms players into Akuma and gives them fighting game-like actions to execute in-game, like punching monsters into submission. Players can complete the new side mission Ultimate Strength, featuring Akuma himself, to unlock this gear.
They can also complete new collab arena quests Demonic Strength and True Strength for more rewards. All in all, they’ll be able to get the following for free:
- "Akuma" hunter full armor set and layered equipment
- "Blanka-Chan" Palico full armor set and layered equipment
- Hunter Profile background, nameplate, and pose
Equipping either the Akuma full armour set or full layered armour set will allow players to use the iconic fighter’s item and gestures, thus recreating fighting moves like Gou Hadoken and Gou Shoryuken. Monster Hunter Wilds has even recreated the Drive Impact system from Street Fighter 6 for this collaboration.
Monster Hunter Wilds x Street Fighter 6: Chun-Li and Cammy paid DLC
This collaboration also adds a number of cosmetics themed after Street Fighter 6 to Monster Hunter Wilds. For starters, players can pick up a Cammy Outfit and a Chun-Li Outfit, both of which serve as skins for the Handler Alma.
Other paid DLC items include a Blanka-Chan Doll Pendant, a Street Fighter 6 set of Stickers, and Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku Gestures. The latter Gestures will also have “attack properties,” according to Capcom.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the worlds of Monster Hunter and Street Fighter have collided. Monster Hunter World previously featured items and cosmetics themed after Street Fighter V, including Ryu and Sakura's special full-set armors for both Low and High Rank, their layered armour, the Hadouken gesture, and Guild Card antics.
This has been a busy week for the Street Fighter franchise. Overwatch 2 is currently in the midst of a Street Fighter 6 crossover event, which includes eight crossover skins. The upcoming Street Fighter live-action movie adaptation is also reportedly eyeing its main cast, including Jason Momoa and Andrew Koji, among others.
