Here’s when you should tune in for the big Nintendo Switch 2 reveal.
Nintendo has officially confirmed a time for its highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 Direct: 6am PT/9am ET on 2 April, 2025. During the presentation, Nintendo will focus on finally spilling details on its upcoming Nintendo Switch successor console, and viewers might even catch a glimpse of the company’s next-gen slate of video games.

Nintendo revealed its successor to the Nintendo Switch last month, officially titling it the Nintendo Switch 2. The console looks much the same as its predecessor aesthetically, but features a few hardware upgrades - namely, a larger screen, magnetic Joy-Cons and backwards compatibility with earlier-released Nintendo Switch games.
The announcement came with the promise of a full hardware reveal on 2 April, but we now know its exact timing. This week, Nintendo confirmed that its Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation will go live at 6am PT/9am ET/9pm GMT+8 on 2 April, 2025. The showcase is said to give viewers “a closer look at Nintendo Switch 2.”
Going by past hardware announcements from Nintendo, it’s likely that the games giant plans to show off more specific details for its upcoming next-gen console on this date. Perhaps this time, it will confirm whether its Joy-Cons actually feature mouse-like capabilities, and dive into geekier hardware specifications. We might learn more about its display, and exactly how much more gaming horsepower it boasts over the original Nintendo Switch.
It’s very likely that the company will fully reveal its upcoming Mario Kart title during this event, given that it was the only game featured in the Nintendo Switch’s reveal trailer in January. The game seems to feature an expanded lineup of players, with new maps thrown into the mix too. The company also has two blockbuster games left in the tank to show off: Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4.
Regardless, we’ll have to wait until 2 April, 2025, to find out more.
