From killer clowns to Destiny 2’s big finale, there’s a lot to play this week.
It’s June, and that means that we’ve officially hit the middle point of 2024. How are those New Year’s resolutions shaping up? Hopefully ‘play more multiplayer games’ was on your list, because we’ve got three of those coming out on the very same day this week. From an unlikely Killer Klowns From Outer Space game adaptation to a Star Wars-themed arena shooter, you’re certainly not lacking in options.

What are we playing?
It’s finally here: Destiny 2’s climactic eighth expansion The Final Shape launches on June 4, capping off seven years of in-game storytelling to wrap up the Light and Darkness saga. We don’t know where Bungie is planning to take Destiny 2’s story after this expansion, but we do know that we’re getting post-The Final Shape ‘Episodes’ to wrap up all remaining story threads from this saga.
Hey, remember that cult B-movie from 1988 about killer clowns from outer space? What was it called again? Oh yes - Killer Klowns From Outer Space. Well, that movie is getting a multiplayer game adaptation that launches on June 4, titled Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game. The game pits seven humans against three Klowns, as they fight for survival in Dead by Daylight-like asymmetrical matches. Fun fact: sequels to the original movie have been in development hell for 36 years now, so this game might be just what the would-be horror franchise needs to get going.
Finally, the free-to-play game Star Wars Hunters launches on June 4. This squad-based arena shooter takes place after the original trilogy and right before the sequel trilogy, pitting characters like Wookiee warriors and bounty hunters against one another. This game is strangely only launching on iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch platforms this week.
What are we watching?
Speaking of Star Wars, the franchise’s latest instalment also hits Disney+ on June 4: The Acolyte. This series takes place a whopping 100 years before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, during the end of the High Republic era - otherwise known as the Jedi Order’s golden age. A time of relative peace and power for Jedis is disturbed by a string of sudden murders, bringing a Jedi Master into contact with a former Padawan as both begin to unearth a dark conspiracy.
Sweet Tooth, the post-apocalyptic Netflix series set in a world populated by a number of human-animal hybrids, is also coming to an end with its third season on June 6. This season, Gus and his friends have finally dealt with the Last Men and are moving on to explore new horizons in Alaska, where they hope to rescue Gus’ adopted mother Birdie.
