BLAST announces multi-year partnership with Epic Games for FNCS and RLCS

BLAST announces a multi-year partnership with Epic Games starting in 2024 for running FNCS and RLCS

Entertainment and esports organizer BLAST announced they are entering a multi-year deal and collaboration with Epic Games to run their prestigious competitive tournaments. As mentioned earlier, the competitions were the Rocket League Championship Series and the Fortnite Champion Series.

BLAST states that they will run all operations, event production, and marketing of RLCS and FNCS. They will also be responsible for all commercial rights of both games' competitive broadcasts and events. This is the first time for FNCS that a third party will be responsible for all commercial rights of the events.

Leo Matlock, Chief Business Officer for BLAST, states: "We are immensely proud to announce this momentous multi-year deal with Epic Games. We believe this partnership represents the future of competitive gaming, where organizations like BLAST are able to work in tandem with world-leading publishers to create incredible experiences for players and teams to compete at the top level in front of fans all over the world."

"Pioneering positive change in esports has always been part of the BLAST DNA, and this announcement is an amazing continuation of that journey. Working together with the world's biggest game publishers to elevate and grow their competitive properties has been a huge area of focus for BLAST in recent years. This collaboration is a testament to that hard work, and we are delighted to expand our relationship with Epic Games by operating the Rocket League Championship Series in addition to the Fortnite Championship Series." Leo further states.

The first time BLAST partnered with Competitive Fortnite was in 2021. They are running the FNCS All-Star Showdown and FNCS Grand Royale events for Epic Games. The partnership deepens when BLAST handles the 2022 and 2023 Fortnite Champion Series schedules and the 2022 FNCS Invitational in Raleigh, North Carolina.

This is also the first time BLAST will handle a Rocket League competition. With a new name in the mix, seeing how it will run the competition from 2024 onwards will be interesting. BLAST is a mainstay in the esports ecosystem, predominantly in the Counter-strike community.

The Danish organizer is the name behind the success of BLAST.tv Paris Major, FNCS Global Championship 2023, BLAST R6 Major Atlanta 2023, and the majorly successful BLAST Premier series.
