Netflix’s new stop-motion animated series follows a concierge working at a Pokemon hotel resort.
Netflix has released the first trailer for its highly adorable stop-motion animated series Pokemon Concierge, which brings Pokemon to life as fuzzy dolls and plastic figurines. The series comes out on December 28, 2023, following a new concierge who takes up post at a Pokemon hotel.

What is Pokemon Concierge about?
Pokemon Concierge is a stop-motion animated series separate from the mainline Pokemon anime, featuring a much more laid-back take on the Pokemon universe. The series follows Haru (The Boys’ Karen Fukuhara), a young woman who becomes the newest concierge at a southern island Pokemon hotel resort. She then, “gradually discovers herself as she and her fellow staff members scramble to attend to the various Pokémon guests,” according to Netflix.
Pokemon Concierge is animated by Dwarf Studio, the creators of the stop-motion animated series Rilakkuma and Kaoru on Netflix. This series is being produced by the studio with The Pokemon Company, while the new mainline Pokemon anime chugs along without Ash Ketchum for the first time ever. Much like the Pokemon: Paldean Winds animated shorts on YouTube, it looks like this series aims to deliver bite-sized Pokemon adventures with lower stakes than we usually get elsewhere.
The series also looks really adorable, if you’re a big fan of fuzzy stop-motion Pokemon shenanigans. Given that Pokemon typically don’t communicate beyond calling their names out over and over again, Haru will spend the series running from one corner of the hotel to the other as she tries to figure out what’s ailing the Pokemon who have taken up residence there. In this trailer alone, we see her interacting with a stressed-out Psyduck, a mischievous Mudkip and a park filled with Pikachu.
Pokemon is in its Animal Crossing era, it seems. Pokemon Concierge will arrive on Netflix on December 28, 2023.
