Firefly debuts in her first-ever banner run for Honkai Star Rail! Here’s everything you need to know to build her.
Honkai Star Rail enters version 2.3 with the arrival of the beloved character Firefly! If you’re wondering how to build her to her maximum potential, then we’ve got you covered.
Firefly wields the Fire element and follows the Path of Destruction, being the game’s first Break DPS with the innate ability to use the powerful Super Break mechanic. As with any Break DPS, Firefly solely relies on ATK and Break Effect stats and doesn’t need any Crit, making building her much easier.
Firefly’s kit is centered around her ultimate, which lets her enter the powerful Complete Combustion state. Upon entering this state, Firefly’s action is advanced 100%, her basic attack and skill receive enhanced versions, plus her Weakness Break Efficiency and Break Effect DMG are buffed. There will be a countdown for the Complete Combustion state that appears in the action bar, which will end it automatically once its turn is reached.
While Firefly’s ultimate has a 240 energy cost, it can be easily surmounted by her non-enhanced skill. When used, it consumes a significant portion of Firefly’s HP, regenerates 60% of her max energy, advances her next action by 25%, and deals Fire DMG to a single target.
When Firefly’s Complete Combustion state is active, use her enhanced skill to unleash fiery destruction upon your enemies. It regenerates Firefly’s HP, applies Fire Weakness to its main target for 2 turns, and deals Fire DMG equal to a certain amount of Firefly’s ATK and Break Effect to its main target and adjacent enemies.
Firefly’s major Traces let her deal Toughness DMG to enemies that don’t have Fire Weakness, use Super Break on enemies while in her Complete Combustion state, and give her bonus Break Effect based on her ATK. Meanwhile, Firefly’s Talent makes her tankier the lower her HP is and guarantees that she always starts a battle with at least 50% of her max energy.
When levelling up Firefly, prioritize ascending her ultimate, then her skill, then her basic ATK. Her best choice of Light Cone is obviously her signature, which is Whereabouts Should Dreams Rest. However, if you’re not too keen on spending precious Stellar Jade on the Light Cone banner, On the Fall of an Aeon, which is free from the Simulated Universe’s Herta Store, will synergize well with her kit.
Firefly can work well with 2 relic combinations from Cavern of Corrosion and Planar Ornament: that being the 4-piece Iron Cavalry Against the Scourge and the 2-piece set of Forge of the Kalpagni Lantern. The main stats you should for for are ATK body, Speed boots, ATL sphere, and Break Effect rope. The ideal stat goals you should gun for are 2, 600 ATK, 150 Speed, and 180 break effect.
150 Speed is easily obtainable with Speed boots, Kalpagni planar relic set, Firefly’s own Speed Traces, and Ruan Mei’s Speed buff. With 150 Speed, Firefly gets 4 actions during her Complete Combustion state.
Firefly only has one best team so far in the game, and it is comprised of the Harmony Trailblazer, Ruan Mei, and Gallagher. If you missed out on getting Ruan Mei, she can be replaced with Asta.
Harmony Trailblazer will provide the Break Effect buffs and constant Super Breaks; Ruan Mei for insane DMG, Speed, and Weakness Break Efficiency buffs; Gallagher for huge Toughness DMG on Fire weak enemies, Break Effect DMG buffs, and skill point generation.
