Talon Esports and Fnatic follow BOOM Esports to PGL Arlington Major

Southeast Asia is the first region to have decided all its representative teams at the PGL Arlington Major.

No tiebreakers were needed to determine the three SEA teams that will head to the US in August for the last Major of the year before The International 2022. Nonetheless, SEA Division 1 of the third Dota Pro Circuit Tour did deliver a rather big story through Talon Esports’ performance.

As one of the two teams promoted to Division1 at the end of the previous Tour, Talon took Division1 by storm and finished the regular season with 6 victories and just 1  defeat to become the second team in the region to claim a ticket to Arlington.

The only team to defeat Talon through the entire Summer Tour was Fnatic, who finished the season 5-2 to make it to their second consecutive Major this year.

Fnatic's final match of the season pitted them against T1, who needed the win in order to force a decider tiebreaker for the third and final slot at the Major. However, Fnatic came out with all guns blazing and took the first game of the series in a convincing fashion, holding both the gold and experience lead throughout the entire 33-minute long match. The second game featured a carry Pudge coming from T1’s Kim "Gabbi" Villafuerte and that put a lot of pressure on Fnatic’s laning stage. T1 kept a slight gold lead by forcing early skirmishes all over the map with their Pudge, but all their advantage was wiped once a couple of key items came online for Fnatic.  Daedalus for Marc "Raven" Fausto’s safe lane Templar Assassin at the 30-minute-mark, along with Blink-BkB on Anucha "Jabz" Jirawong Beastmaster flipped the game on its head and allowed Fnatic to close the series 2-0.

While no tiebreaker series will be played for the three Major slots for SEA, BOOM Esports and Talon Esports, who finished tied for the 1ast place in the league with a 6-1 series record will go head to head one more time to decide which one will finish first and earn 500 DPC points for this Tour and which one will have to settle for second place and 300 DPC points. The first place tiebreaker, BOOM Esports vs Talon Esports, will be played on the 16th of July at 12:00 CEST.
