Post DPC 2021 Season 1 shuffles already begin

The DPC 2021 Season 1 league play has not even completely finished up and teams are already making their roster changes in preparation for the next season

The dust hasn't even settled in the DPC 2021 Season 1. Teams are still fighting for the last coveted spots, tie-breakers are set to begin and China still has one full week ahead of them to complete. But those teams that already have their fate's sealed -- in a manner they are not pleased with -- have begun their movements for next season.

Vikin.gg was once sitting on top of the EU world. That was during the offseason when that world was not as competitive and stacked with the competition of the highest caliber. Now, in the moments that it counts the most, the team was not able to rub shoulders with the top teams the way they expected to.

The European team was able to qualify for a spot in the upper division of the DPC 2021 Season 1 league. Unfortunately, they ended the season in 7th place with a dismal series record of 2:5 (6:12 game record). And that record meant relegation into the lower division for next season.

Internal struggles started towards the end of the season. Offlaner Tobias “Tobi” Buchner was benched and Maurice "KheZu" Gutmann stood in for the team. Now the team has made an official announcement.

There is no word yet who will replace him, but teams have a few weeks to sort things out before needing to register for Season 2.

Spider-Pigz will also be calling it quits. The CIS/EU mix struggled in the EU lower division this season ending in 5th place. Not a notable achievement considering the last two places have been occupied by teams that were disqualified and withdrew for alleged match-fixing.

Meanwhile, changes have also happened in South America. Infamous had risen to the top of the standings (second place) with new(er)comer mid player Mr. Jeans creating a buzz early in the first week, but they just plummeted for the next few weeks taking loss after loss. Although they were able to rescue it at the end and keep a place in the upper division for Season 2, they made the decision to adjust the roster before then as announced on their facebook page.

After a complicated season we managed to rescue, we're making decisions and will make changes in order to accomplish great things in the next league.

That said, we communicate the official

Mr.Jeans

exit from the squad (and no, it's not a nick change), not without thanking him for taking on the challenge and wishing him the best successes on his next adventure.

We will later announce the player who will take that position.

No doubt more teams will be making changes in the very near future. Post season shuffles are always interesting so keep your eyes open on GosuGamers for all the further details.
