The results of the Galaxy Battles group stage have been signed, sealed and delivered. Coming to a conclusion in just one day, the seeds for the upper and lower brackets have been set.
After being placed in what many agreed was the toughest group of an unbalanced division, Mousesports struggled to find their footing in the group stage. Despite some stand out moments and key team fights, the team was not able to capitalize on any of it to seize a single win for the day. The Greek squad are now staring down the barrel of a loaded gun - the brutal best-of-one lower bracket elimination series.
Infamous and HappyFeet quickly found themselves in the same boat as Mousesports at the end of the day. HappyFeet and Infamous both ended with a 1:2 score to suffer the same fate, the only difference being in seeding, which decides which team they would contend with for an extra shot at redemption.
On the positive note, it was no surprised to see Planet Odd come out on top of their group. Newbee had a much harder fight for their top position as the three way tie between Newbee, TnC Pro and ViCi Gaming. With each having a 2:1 record the tie was broken by 3 one game series.
After being defeated by ViCi Gaming, TnC went on to face Newbee with some success. Despite their loss against TnC, Newbee picked up the win against ViCi Gaming with a well-executed strategy and interesting draft. Due to the time rating rule, ViCi Gaming bowed out earlier than might have been expected in a typical game. Newbee's win elevated them to the top seed of the group and an upper bracket placement.
iG.Vitality will face off against Newbee while Planet Odd will clash with ViCi Gaming in the first round of Upper Brackets later today at 14:30pm CEST. Both Games will be best-of-three series.
