A day after the Manila Masters and a day before Zotac Cup, Valve drops a new gameplay update.
The 7.06c patch brings a hefty amount of buffs and nerfs to heroes, changes to Solar Crest (one of the most popular item these days) and puts Crystal Maiden only 5 points of movement speed ahead of the slowest hero in the game, Techies.
Crystal Maiden has been the most picked hero at the Kiev Major and she kept her leading position ithrough the Manila Masters, where she was a top 3 picked hero. Today’s patch targets her with a movement speed reduction from 280 to 275 which makes the hero the second slowest in the game, after Techies which has a 270 movement speed. However, her spells and damage are not affected and this might still keep the freezing lady at the top table in the support department.
Only two items have been touched in the new patch: Blade Mail’s damage return is no longer increased by Spell Amplification and the Solar Crest evasion got reduced while the value of its accuracy got buffed. Note that the True Strike mechanic is now renamed to Accuracy.
Solar Crest 7.06c changes:
- Solar Crest: Evasion reduced from 25% to 20%
- Solar Crest: Chance for true strike mechanic is now renamed to Accuracy
- Solar Crest: Accuracy increased from 25% to 35%
A few heroes got considerable buffs in Valve’s latest patch, which might get them back into the meta. Gyrocopter for instance,has been missing from professional games for a long time and today’s gameplay update targets him with a spell radius increase and an increased stun duration for the Homing Missile.
Gyrocopter 7.06. changes:
- Gyrocopter: Flak Cannon radius increased from 1000 to 1250
- Gyrocopter: Homing Missile stun duration from 2.2/2.4/2.6/2.8 to 2.25/2.5/2.75/3.0
Shadow Demon, a hero not seen in any tournaments since The International 6 when the Luna-SD combo was super abused, got a few buffs in the latest patch. The SD-Luna illusions push combo was very popular last summer, after Shadow Demon got continuously buffed through 6.86, 6.87 and 6.88 patches. The hero popularity dropped immediately after TI6 when he’s been downgraded by numerous nerfs. However, today he gets plenty a buffs once again and it won’t be surprising to see him back in the meta.
Shadow Demon 7.06c changes:
- Shadow Demon: Level 10 Talent from +10 MS to +20
- Shadow Demon: Level 10 Talent from +6 Strength to +10
- Shadow Demon: Level 15 Talent from +6% Spell Amp to +8%
- Shadow Demon: Level 20 Talent from +10% Magic Resistance to +15%
- Shadow Demon: Shadow Poison cast point improved from 0.3 to 0.25
