Information about The International 7 is served bit by bit with every Valve announcement related to the most anticipated Dota 2 tournament of the year.
For the second time in a row, The International will feature a Cosplay contest with a generous $15,000 prize pool. Same as the last year, the cosplayers are invited to show off their Dota 2 costume crafts on the big stage during the main event. Those interested to participate in the TI7 Cosplay contest are not required to have a ticket for the event, all cosplayers registered for the competition will be admitted to a pre-judging phase which will be held in a location near the venue. Cosplay finalists will then proceed to the actual contest hosted on the big stage at a yet to be announced date. PGL will be in charge of the Cosplay contest, and all those who want to enter the competition are invited to register on PGL’s sign-up page.
After a call to arms for all the workshop artists interested in contributing to the TI7 Collector's Cache for which Valve revealed an aquatic theme, the Cosplay contest discloses the location of the event.
TI7 will continue to be held in Seattle and the venue will most likely be the same KeyArena. Although KeyArena is expected to be closed for a large renovation process, the event calendar posted on their official website displays activities up until November 2017. For the month of August, when The International usually takes place, there are only three Basketball matches scheduled at KeyArena, on the 16th, 18th and 27th of the month which means that TI7 might be scheduled in the first two weeks of August.
